Who we are
Winners Without Gambling International ("WWGI", "we", "us", or "our") is an
organization-focused recovery initiative founded by Sisanda Lwana. The mobile
software is developed by BK Sekulane for the WWGI mission.

What the Platform app does
The app has separate entry paths so the recovery community and the affected
people awareness space can develop independently while remaining under the
WWGI Platform mission. The app is built around practical participation,
including:
- Support and Recovery features for approved members who are working through gambling addiction recovery.
- Recovery stories, comments, reactions, voice notes, images, and supportive community engagement.
- A separate People Affected by Gambling Addiction space for affected family members, friends, partners, colleagues, and others to share awareness stories.
- Moderator-reviewed affected-person stories before public visibility, with staff approval, rejection, change-request, and administrator deletion workflows.
- Optional affected-person story media such as images and voice notes where enabled, plus reactions on approved affected stories.
- Unique pseudonymous affected display names so users can give their stories character without exposing their real identity.
- Account access through email/password and supported providers such as Google, Facebook, and Twitter/X where enabled.
- Account linking and unlinking tools for supported sign-in methods.
- Approval-gated access so moderators can review new member requests.
- Organization-record profile fields used internally by WWGI before membership approval.
- Recovery progress tracking based on the member's recovery start date or last gambling date.
- Private self-reflection notes and next-morning messages to help members support their future selves.
- Notification preferences and Do Not Disturb controls for community, reminder, and staff-response notifications.
- Push notifications and notification settings for relevant account, moderation, affected-space, community, Shield, staff-response, and reminder events.
- Urge reset tools, support contacts, official help resources, and relapse barrier planning.
- Moderator and administrator tools for reports, affected-story review, affected access suspension, safety review, and WWGI Shield unlock support.
- Minimal app-event ledger records for Shield and Platform install, uninstall, activation, and deactivation follow-up.
- Voluntary supporter memberships and once-off support boosts through Google Play Billing.
- Recovery Program code paths are currently inactive unless WWGI enables them; where enabled, they support staff-reviewed forms, assistant assignment, Shield follow-up, collaborative budgets, and mediation preparation.
People affected by gambling addiction
The affected-person side of the Platform is intended for people who are not
necessarily gambling themselves, but who have been harmed by another person's
gambling. Users can choose a unique display name that should not be their real
name, phone number, email address, workplace, school, or any other identifying
detail. This helps protect privacy while still allowing shared stories to feel
human.
Affected-person stories are stored separately from recovery-member stories.
They may include text, images, voice notes, and reactions on approved stories, and must be reviewed by WWGI
moderators or administrators before they become publicly visible in that section
of the app. WWGI may reject, remove, edit visibility, or request changes where
content is unsafe, identifying, harmful, abusive, promotional, or outside the
purpose of education and awareness. Administrators may suspend affected-side
access if an account is used to abuse, harass, identify, or endanger others.
How WWGI Shield fits in
WWGI Shield is a separate companion app that can block gambling access on a
user's Android device. When both apps are installed from matching release
channels and signed compatibly, the Platform app can read limited Shield status
information and can sync that status to WWGI's backend for moderation and support
workflows. Where the protected app bridge is unavailable, Shield may verify the
same approved WWGI account through direct sign-in. Shield users may submit unlock
requests from Shield with a reason and contact details. Moderators and
administrators may review those requests, send short-lived one-time unlock codes
to the user's Shield screen, or reject a request with a reason. Shield is intended to run as a strict
extension of the Platform app for approved members, not as a stand-alone blocker
disconnected from WWGI recovery support.
Shield activation, deactivation, and unlock events can be treated as recovery
events so members and staff can understand when a major recovery barrier has
changed. Minimal install, uninstall, activation, and deactivation ledger entries
may also be used so moderators and administrators know when a paired recovery
barrier needs follow-up.
WWGI content and data
WWGI content, data, names, logos, designs, text, images, documents, website
material, Platform content, Shield content, recovery stories, affected-person
stories, comments, media,
support material, moderation records, Shield/blocking data, and content from
WWGI's official online presence are protected by law, contract, and community
confidentiality expectations. They may not be copied, scraped, reproduced,
republished, redistributed, publicly quoted, mirrored, archived, sold, adapted,
trained into model systems, or otherwise used outside the intended WWGI services
without WWGI's prior written consent and, where required, consent from the
relevant member or rights holder.
Not emergency care or clinical treatment
WWGI Platform is not emergency care, a crisis line, therapy, medical treatment,
legal advice, financial advice, debt counselling, or a regulated healthcare
service. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
If you are in immediate danger, at risk of self-harm, or at risk of harming
someone else, contact local emergency services or a qualified crisis service
immediately.
