Account deletion

Delete your WWGI Platform account

This page explains how to request deletion of a WWGI Platform account and what records may need to be retained for safety, legal, billing, or moderation reasons.

Package: com.wwgi.platform Last updated: 10 May 2026

Request deletion with this form

Complete the form below to prepare an account deletion request to developer@wwgi.org.za. The form is submitted through the secure WWGI website and is sent to WWGI for review.

Delete inside the app

If you can still open your account in the WWGI Platform app, you can also request deletion from the app by opening Profile, choosing Edit profile, and using Delete account. The app will ask you to confirm before sending the deletion request.

Request deletion by email

Send an email to developer@wwgi.org.za from the email address linked to your WWGI Platform sign-in, where possible, or include enough information for us to identify your account.

Use the subject line: WWGI account deletion request.

Include these details

  • Your WWGI recovery handle or username.
  • The sign-in method used for the account, such as email/password, Google, Facebook, Twitter/X, guest account, or unknown.
  • The email address or provider account used to sign in, if available.
  • A clear request that you want your WWGI Platform account deleted.
  • Whether you also want uploaded profile media and community media removed where technically possible.

Do not send passwords, provider access tokens, payment card details, identity documents, or other sensitive documents unless WWGI specifically requests them for verification.

What we delete

After verifying the request, we will delete or anonymize account profile records and personal information that is no longer needed to provide the service. Where technically possible and appropriate, we will also remove uploaded profile media and community media linked to your account.

What may be retained

Some records may be retained where necessary for moderation continuity, community safety, abuse prevention, dispute handling, billing, tax, accounting, legal compliance, backup recovery, or audit history. This can include reports, moderation decisions, Shield unlock audit entries, Shield recovery events, minimal app-event ledger entries, purchase records, and security logs.

Local data on your device

Some reflection notes, drafts, reminders, cached images, and app preferences may be stored on your device. You can remove local data by deleting items in the app, clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app.

Timing

We aim to respond to deletion requests within a reasonable time. Complex requests may take longer where verification, safety review, backups, payment records, or legal retention obligations are involved.
